The ProFM Credential Program is discontinued as announced by the Professional Facility Management Institute (ProFMI).

“Valued ProFMs, FM professionals, and colleagues,

After careful consideration, the Professional Facility Management Institute (ProFMI) has made the decision to discontinue future sales of the ProFM Credential Program and will focus our efforts on supporting in-progress candidates and those who have earned their ProFM credential.

We understand that this news may come as a shock and disappointment, but unfortunately the adoption of the ProFM credential has not reached the level needed to sustain the program into the future.” – ProFMI

History and Significance of the ProFM Credential

The ProFM Credential Program was established to provide facility management (FM) professionals with comprehensive training and certification. Over the years, it has become a respected credential in the industry, signifying a high level of knowledge and competency in FM practices. The program was designed to equip professionals with the skills needed to excel in their careers and contribute effectively to their organizations.

Reasons for Discontinuation of the ProFM Credential

Despite its value, the ProFM Credential Program faced challenges in achieving widespread adoption. The pace of new credential holders was insufficient to support necessary program updates and staffing. This lack of adoption ultimately led to the difficult decision to discontinue the program.

Impact on ProFM Credential Holders

For those who have earned the ProFM credential, it’s important to know that your achievement remains significant. The credential will now be considered a lifetime achievement, with no requirements for renewal credits. This means you can continue to list it on your resume or CV, as it represents a substantial investment in your professional development.

Guidance for In-progress Learners of the ProFM Credential

The skills and knowledge gained through this program will remain valuable assets for your career.

I would like a refund please. How can I get that? I see you are not offering refunds unsolicited so I am pursuing this. My primary goal was always to receipve the credential. Now that credential will not be supported and thus has little value to me. Please advise.
